Raising Cultural Awareness Through the Power of South Asian Dance.
TamashaSD is a student run non-profit organization on the UC San Diego campus that aims to connect South Asian Americans back to their roots while fostering a positive cultural environment for the community. We host a Raas-Garba (Sanedo) and a Bollywood-Fusion competition (Tamasha), as competitive dance showcases in partnership with national leagues in order to raise money towards helping reduce domestic violence for women and children in India.

So What Happened?
Coordinated 2 dance competitions in alignment with partner organization guidelines and approvals. Held 2 dance competitions with 16 collegiate-dance teams and over 300 participants alongside 2 post-competition after parties with attendees totaling nearly 2,000 each. Partnered with local San Diego businesses for fundraising and sponsorships.
I served as VP Internal for the 2023-2024 year alongside Head of Media in 2022. Successfully raised over $30k to be put towards show costs and foundation donations.
